Last January 2009, Sage Community School received a grant from Project Learning Tree Greeworks!program. We were able to purchase supplies and equipment to start a small garden project. Last spring students put together planting frames tilled soil, learned about the importance of soils, and planted seeds and starts. This fall 2010 students harvested potatoes, tomatoes, broccoli, strawberries, carrots, radishes, and flowers. The applied math, art, and science inquiry skills at the garden and ate healthy snacks.

We look forward to expanding the garden program this year.
